⁉️ Can esoteric d-01 accept 10mhz word clock?

The D1 follows the monaural configuration of the D-01, which we introduced in 2004 as the world’s first monaural D/A converter. The D-01 was developed with the goal of attaining the highest level of channel separation and the ideal power supply to each channel. In the new D1, we have introduced the latest technology and further enhanced the design. The right and left channels can now be link-connected with a single HDMI cable (provided), and easy input from external source devices is ...

Recently got the Esoteric D-07. Want to get a word clock but the Esoteric one is simply too expensive. Is there any third party word clock out there which supports Esoteric transports and/or DACs? Many thanks.

Generally, you want an internal clock on the Esoteric because, being closest to the spinning disc, and DAC, an internal clock has the shortest trace route, and will have the best chance at having a great signal. The main reason to use an external clock is when using an external DAC. Some external DAC’s even provide their own clock out.

For separates, an external master clock is a must, but you can start with something relatively cheap, like the G-0x and then upgrade to the G-0rb as money allows. Esoteric is a very "integrated" solution if you catch my draft.

Considering the use of an external word clock with my Esoteric cd/sacd player, it has a word clock BNC input. Wanted to ask two questions; 1.) Are you relegated to using only an Esoteric word clock device? or 2.) Can you use another manufacturer like some of the pro audio word clocks, eg. Antelope OCXHD, Black Lion, Tascam, etc.? Thanks for ...

The clock does not come in between player and DAC, it only connects to the DAC’s word input, that way it is impossible to alter the data stream coming over the Apogee Wide-Eye balanced cable. A BNC terminated Stereovox XV2 digital cable feeds the clock signal into the converter.

Let's see what can be done if a word clock input can be filled. In this example, the USB out of the MBP is re-clocked to AES3 via the first Mutec MC-3+USB direct to the DAC. The second MC-3+USB or MC-3+ smart clock (without USB input) provides the clock information for the DAC as the clock.

The G-0Rb can be used with Esoteric transports and processors that accept an external clock signal, as well as with products from other manufacturers that have a word-clock input. The G-0Rb’s outputs feed the clock-input jacks on a transport and digital-to-analog converter. In my case, front-panel switches on the P-03 and D-03 disengage the ...
