BigPapiChad 7 years ago #2. Nords don't hate Restoration magic. The guards say that they have a lot of respect for the Restoration school and that Skyrim could use more healers. But Nords are generally afraid of all other forms of magic. They don't trust it, they don't like it, and they don't realize it's usefulness.

Why is there such a distrust amongst Nords for Magic and its users? It strikes me as strange that they do not like magic much. They do of course blame the College for the collapse of Winterhold but surely that is not enough.
Its pretty self explanatory, Warriors don't use magic, Spellcasters use magic, and Spellswords use both. Nords don't have the need to use magic since they are some of the best warriors in tamriel.
